I came to Rockstar about 2 years ago after recently having twins. Myself and my horse Cracker had been on a few part/ DIY yards, and all resulting in same. Then a mutual friend suggested I spoke to Kay. This was the day my life changed forever. I moved cracker within the month, and she came on working livery. This took the pressure off me and allowed me to concentrate on being a first time mum. I always knew cracker was looked after as if she was their own. Once being mum got slightly easier I managed To go back to lessons with Kay twice a month. I was never really a fan of lessons, however in this short space of time I realised the difference in my stiff ex riding school pony, who was appearing to a dab hand at dressage! Things have just got better and the opportunities I have had whilst being a client and livery at REC have been endless. My confidence as a rider and person has returned, and I have friends at REC that I would say are true friends. At REC the motto seems to be support. Not just from Kay but from all the liveries, riding club members, family and friends.
Rockstar is my extended family now. It has helped me through some tough times, but always been there as a firm standing block ready to help in whichever way it can.
My advise to anyone looking at this web site would be, let REC into your lives you never know the possibilities it my open up. Thanks again to you and all your staff, for making REC such a wonderful place to be.
I have been having lessons with Kay at Rockstar Equitation Centre (REC) since June 2011 and can highly recommend her. Kay has a wonderfully positive approach to teaching and I come away from each lesson having learnt something new. Kay offers lessons to riders of all ages and abilities on her beautiful, obedient horses. She also gives lessons at REC to clients with their own horses. Kay and REC‘s ethical approach to training is inspiring, and the results are evident through the progression of both horse and rider. Kay has been training my young horse Ryan, and the improvement in his behaviour in just six months is amazing. As a livery client my horse receives 5* care and we could not wish for a better place to be. With its excellent facilities REC offers a friendly and professional environment in which to enjoy all things equine.
Absolutely love Rec! Have been going for a few years now., Also had the pleases of working up there which taught me such a lot. I had some hard times which I really struggled with and the support I received off Kay Scott-Jarvis was wonderful, she encouraged me to come out of my shell, and has helped me to improve my techniques with my own horse. Totally not like any other general yard. Never an atmosphere or unfriendliness. I'm very happy I met Kay and I'm always grateful for her ongoing support.. She is an inspiration to many. And I love her!!!
My horse has been on full livery at REC for the last 12 months, Kay and her team are amazing they are professional, knowledgable and friendly. My horse is looked after like their own and is so happy at REC.
I never have to worry about Lenny's past health problems as Kay is approachable and works with me to keep Him fit and healthy.
The facility's at REC are brilliant, there are plenty of themed lesson and clinics to keep you busy plus different show classes and theme days. There is something for everyone.
Rockstar equitation centre is the most welcoming and friendly yard I have come across, the clients, horses and team are all lovely and I couldn't wish for a better place to be apart of. X
I joined REC this time last year after a prolonged period of ill health. I had my own very lightly backed youngster and had lost confidence as I was no longer able to do the things I used to, I have neuropathy and can't feel my left side, plus a long standing blindness in one eye. I wanted to see if I could still balance.
Kay and her team are inspirational. I soon learnt that I could do whatever I wanted and I had to face my limitations and push them, not get frustrated and live in the past. In twelve months I have gone from a pretty frustrated rider to someone with clear goals and ambitions.
In June I bought my horse over to livery, something I really thought was out of reach due to my health. She is cared for the same as any of Kay's own and has flourished. I am now re starting the mounting process, using Kay's training methods and it's working fantastically.
I'm also riding the REC horses regularly and even jumping again, and loving it. Limitations? What limitations? Kay is a facilitator and will encourage you to do and be what you aspire to.
I've made new friends and the facilities are great. I have taken part in my first dressage series this year and grown in confidence in my life as a whole. REC is my sanctuary.
Ive received lessons off Kay for a Few months and Ive learnt more in that time than I have any where else. she offers an affordable, professional, friendly service at the highest of standards and I’d highly recommend her. She offers a range of lessons and clinics to support different abilities wanting to improve in there training and you will always come away knowing that you got the best out of yourself and the horse.
It must have been 2 or 3 years ago now when I discovered REC, having ridden previously for a long time at a large riding centre. I'd had a huge loss of confidence and wasn't really moving on in my riding. After one lesson with Kay, I knew that I wouldn't be going back to my old yard and the improvements have been amazing. REC is a wonderful place to learn to ride; a small, friendly yard with huge support from very friendly members. The staff are a credit and the horses relaxed and obedient, ensuring a rewarding ride. There are regular competitions throughout the year, something for anyone to have a go. I couldn't praise the coaching and level of support highly enough.
I have received lessons and guidance for several years with Kay, and enjoy the progression of working with your horse as a team. My daughter has been receiving lessons with Kay and it has been a pleasure to see her confidence and riding ability grow under Kay’s encouragement and guidance. If you want to learn to ride and to ride well, try Rockstar Equitation Centre. If you want to learn about horse science and ethical training you really should come to Rockstar Equitation Centre. Horse riding/ownership is a life long learning journey and here it is an absolute pleasure.
I trained for my Riding and Road Safety exam at REC back in April and i really couldn't fault the centre at all! The horses and ponies had impeccable manners and really made me feel at ease when practising for the exam itself. The facilities are great at REC and you're never greeted with anything other than a warm welcome from both the staff and the horses! Rockstar is a truly amazing centre with horses perfect for all abilities. Needless to say i passed my Riding and Road Safety exam with the help of Kay and Steve, huge thanks to all the team, i would 100% recommend Rockstar to anyone with a passion for horses!

'Just wanted to let you know that I am thrilled to bits with Issy's riding lessons.'
'My daughter and I visited your centre on Sunday 5th October at 3pm. Firstly I would like to say how lovely and friendly all the staff were. My daughter got to ride Bailey Blue and she has not stopped talking about him all week. He is a lovely horse. She really enjoyed her experience and would love to keep coming to your centre.'

'Kay, a very big personal thanks to you from me for all your positive training. Irrelevant of my placing today since joining REC I have re-captured some of my youth and begun to believe I can achieve my goals. Today was a lovely surprise and I will be bottling this feeling. Thank you.'
A super, friendly centre that can offer something to suit all levels and capabilities of horse and rider. Despite having ridden and competed my horse for 15 years, together we are still making progress and learning new things with Kay’s expert guidance. Very highly recommended!
I am a relatively new member of Rockstar, and I was very encouraged by the warm welcome I received from Kay, her staff and the other members. I felt at home straight away. Everyone is very supportive and even though I have been riding for 40+ years I am learning techniques which are new to me and my horse, which are already proving to be very effective. Rockstar has put the FUN back into my riding, a very knowledgeable and friendly Riding Club.
REC is the place to be! Not only do you receive quality training but support, guidance and friendship is always available. REC is a safe and relaxing environment where you can always be guaranteed a warm welcome from staff and other clients alike. You always have an all round pleasurable experience at REC...the place just keeps getting better, and my confidence just keeps growing!
I have recently joined REC and although I have been riding for many years I am really enjoying learning new techniques from Kay, she's inspirational. everyone is friendly and welcoming, its really good fun.
Steve Richards, Husband of Anna Richards
My wife Anna Richards, with a very busy accountancy practice in Rugeley, has always found it difficult to be distracted from her work. Riding has been a passion for Anna since childhood, and since we have been married she has tried to find somewhere to ride again in the local area. So when I asked around we were very fortunate to have been told of Kay Scott Jarvis and the Rockstar Equitation Centre, by a colleague of mine at the Rodbaston College. Anna started riding with Kay mid June 2011. It was apparent from the start that Kay has a deep and comprehensive knowledge of horsemanship and her professional enthusiastic approach to all things horse, are illustrated in the stables, ménage, jumping arena and indeed the horses themselves who are obedient both to handle and ride.
In the training arena Kay has a warm friendly instructive technique which has allowed both Kay and Anna to bond very quickly, so in just 6 weeks Kay had pushed Anna forward to rediscover the basic skills and to start to develop new ones, Kay has already started to bring out the best in Anna and increase her knowledge of horses. The lessons are both informative, interesting and fun, Anna is learning dressage movements as well as doing polework, and has even been out hacking with Kay. This is a fabulous learning environment to be in. Kay is an excellent instructor, who encourages her students to get involved with the horses and develop at a pace that they are comfortable with. I have never seen Anna so happy getting involved with the horses, and becoming more confident as a rider. Thanks Kay!!
"Kay was my FD lecturer at South Staffs College last year and because of Kay I have learnt so much more about horses and myself!
Kay is an amazing coach and I highly recommend her. Not only has she taught me much more about the ethical training our horses need but also helped me improve my riding and confidence in 1 year!
She truly is an inspiration and I wish to carry on and learn more about equitation science and how the horse learns because of Kay. I would just like to say a HUGE thank you."
